Whole Wheat Biscuits
Recipe Ingredients:
| 1 | cup | flour |
| 3 | tsp | baking powder |
| 3/4 | cup | milk |
| 3/4 | tsp | salt |
| 1 | cup | whole wheat flour |
| 1/4 | cup | solid shortening |
Recipe Instructions:
| 1. | Combine dry ingredients with shortening until coarse like crumbs. In a bowl, bake a well. Add milk all at once. Stir quickly with fork only until dough follows fork around bowl. |
| 2. | Turn dough onto lightly floured surface. Knead gently 10 - 11 strokes (1/2 minute). Roll or pat dough 1/2 inch thick. Dip biscuit cutter in flour and cut straight down - no twisting! |
| 3. | Bake on non-greased baking sheet at 450 degrees for 12 - 15 minutes. Yield: 16 biscuits. |
