Aunt Edy's Molasses Crinkles
Recipe Ingredients:
| 3/4 | cup | shortening |
| 1 | cup | brown sugar |
| 4 | Tbsp | molasses |
| 2 1/4 | cup | flour |
| 2 | tsp | baking soda |
| 1/2 | tsp | ground cloves |
| 1 | tsp | ground cinnamon |
| 1 | tsp | ground ginger |
| 1 | egg, beaten |
Recipe Instructions:
| 1. | Cream shortening. Add sugar gradually & cream thoroughly. Blend in beaten egg & molasses. |
| 2. | Mix together flour, baking soda, ground cloves, ground cinnamon and ground ginger and add to cream mixture. Mix well. Chill in refrigerator for 1 hour or more. |
| 3. | Shape into balls and dip top in sugar. Place unsugared side down on a greased baking sheet. Sprinkle each cookie with 2-3 drops of ice water. Bake 12-15 minutes at 375F. |
