Cherry Buns
Recipe Ingredients:
| 3 | oz | margarine |
| 3 | oz | sugar |
| 1 | egg | |
| 5 | oz | flour, plain or self-rising |
| 1 | tsp | baking powder (leave this out if using self-rising flour) |
| 1 | lemon | |
| 2 | oz | glace cherries |
| 2 | Tbsp | milk |
Recipe Instructions:
| 1. | Cream together the margarine and sugar, using a wooden spoon, until mixture goes light and creamy. Beat in egg. |
| 2. | In second bowl, sift flour and baking powder. Grate lemon rind and add to flour. Cut cherries into quarters and mix with flour. Put paper cases ready on your baking tray. |
| 3. | Add flour to the creamed mixture in first bowl. Stir well so that all ingredients are thoroughly mixed. Add 2-3 tablespoons of milk to make the mixture just soft enough to drop from spoon. Put a big teaspoonful into each paper case. Bake in a fairly hot oven for 20-25 minutes. |
