Chocolate Christmas Trees
Recipe Ingredients:
| 2 | oz | semi-sweet chocolate |
| 1 1/2 | cup | all purpose flour |
| 1 | tsp | baking powder |
| 1/4 | tsp | baking soda |
| 1/4 | tsp | salt |
| 1/2 | cup | butter, softened |
| 1 | cup | granulated sugar |
| 1 | large | egg |
| 1 | tsp | vanilla |
| colored dragees |
Recipe Instructions:
| 1. | Preheat oven to 375F. Heat chocolate in microwave for 2-3 minutes on medium power. When almost melted remove from heat and stir and set aside to cool. |
| 2. | In a small bowl stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar with a mixer until fluffy. |
| 3. | Beat eggs and vanilla into butter mixture. Add melted chocolate and stir until well blended. Add flour mixture to butter mixture a little at a time and mix well. |
| 4. | Wrap dough in plastic and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Roll dough to 1/8" thickness and cut out cookies with tree shaped cookie cutter. |
| 5. | Place cookie on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 7-10 minutes or until light brown. Decorate. Using frosting pipe on white trim, make small dots of white icing to "glue" dragees on to the cookies. Makes about 3 dozen. |
