Ginger Crinkles
Recipe Ingredients:
| 1 | cup | butter or margarine, softened |
| 1 1/2 | cup | granulated sugar |
| 1 | large | egg |
| 2 | Tbsp | dark corn syrup |
| 1/2 | cup | mild molasses |
| 3 | cup | all purpose flour |
| 2 | tsp | ground cinnamon |
| 1 | tsp | ground ginger |
| 1/4 | tsp | ground cloves |
| 1/4 | tsp | salt |
| 1/4 | cup | granulated sugar (for coating) |
Recipe Instructions:
| 1. | Preheat oven to 375F (190C). Beat first 5 ingredients in a bowl on low speed until smooth. Scrape batter off beaters using a rubber spatula. |
| 2. | Add the flour, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and salt; stir with a spoon until moistened. Roll into 1-1/2 inch (3.5 cm) balls. |
| 3. | Put the remaining sugar into a small bowl. Roll the balls one at a time in the sugar to coat them. Arrange the balls on ungreased cookie sheets 2 inches (5 cm) apart. |
| 4. | Bake on center rack in oven for 12 to 14 minutes. Remove the cookie sheet to a wire rack. Let stand 2 minutes before removing the cookies to waxed paper lined on the counter. Cool completely. Makes 3-1/2 dozen. |
