Snickerdoodles
Recipe Ingredients:
| 1/2 | cup | shortening |
| 1/2 | cup | butter (1 stick) |
| 1 1/2 | cup | sugar |
| 2 | eggs | |
| 2 3/4 | cup | flour |
| 2 | tsp | cream of tartar |
| 1 | tsp | baking soda |
| 1/4 | tsp | salt |
| 1 | tsp | almond extract |
| 2 | tsp | cinnamon |
| 2 | Tbsp | sugar (for coating) |
Recipe Instructions:
| 1. | Preheat oven to 400. In a small bowl combine the 2 Tbl sugar & 2 tsp cinnamon and set aside. |
| 2. | In a large bowl mix shortening, butter & sugar; add eggs and mix thoroughly. In another bowl mix together remaining dry ingredients, then blend into butter mixture to form dough. |
| 3. | Roll into balls - size of walnuts. Next roll ball in the cinnamon/sugar mixture until completely coated. |
| 4. | Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400 for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes 5 dozen. |
