Marinara Sauce
Recipe Ingredients:
| 1 | tsp | salt |
| 3 | Tbsp | olive oil |
| 2 | clove | garlic, chopped fine |
| 2 | tsp | onion, chopped fine |
| 1 | can | (28oz) plum tomatoes |
| 1 | tsp | fresh oregano, chopped fine |
| 1 | tsp | Italian parsley, chopped fine |
| 1/8 | tsp | fresh ground pepper |
Recipe Instructions:
| 1. | Pour plum tomatoes into bowl and using fingers squeeze until most of the lumps are out. Note: If it contains basil, chop fine and add back to tomatoes. |
| 2. | Season tomatoes with salt, oregano, parsley and ground pepper. |
| 3. | Heat in 3-quart saucepot, 3 tablespoons olive oil on medium heat (#5). Add the chopped onion and garlic. Cook until starting to brown. Add slowly, stirring constantly the tomato mixture. |
| 4. | Cook uncovered about 15 minutes or until thickened, stirring frequently. Note: You may want to lower the heat to about #3 after 5 minutes. Note: If sauce becomes too thick, you may add a little bit of water. |
